Komorebi is the Japanese expression for sunlight streaming through trees and leaves. It is a word that has no direct translation in English, which is why I wanted to capture it through my art in this painting series. We have all experienced difficult times since the start of the pandemic and everything we thought to be normal has changed dramatically.

Whenever I felt down and in need of inspiration, I went out to the forest to see Komorebi. I found solace in the breathtaking beauty of the sunlight dancing through the sky, and the light seeping into the forest. The tranquil scenery never fails to melt my worries and provide me with a sense of calm. These experiences inspired me to paint these pieces.
